Upgrading of Woodsville Interchange
The Woodsville Interchange is located at the intersection of Serangoon Road, Upper Serangoon Road, MacPherson Road and Bendemeer Road. Serangoon Road and Upper Serangoon Road are two major arterial roads linking the city with the Serangoon corridor and the northeast sector. With traffic volumes at the interchange close to its capacity, long traffic queues were frequently observed during peak hours.
The upgrading of Woodsville Interchange seeks to ease traffic flow of the at grade road junction. Excavation works in close proximity under the Pan Island Expressway were being carried out intermittently in between the busy road junctions. Together with numerous rounds of traffic diversions and complex excavation works, the project took close to 4 million safe man-hours before its completion.
